Twenty-eight seconds later, Boughton would get his second of the game as he pounced on a rebound and put it into the top of the Wings goal. A little over a minute later, Bryan Perez would score on the counter for Wichita to pull them back to within six points at 10-4 after one half of play.

Wichita would take advantage of a Lancers penalty when Kevin Ten Eyck scored off the Perez assist under three minutes into the second-half. The Lancers would answer back on a powerplay of their own with Chile finding Salles who hammered it home from 3-point range to give the Lancers a 13-8 lead as the third-quarter came to a close.

Just under nine minutes into the fourth-quarter, Jamar Beasley toe-poked home the pass from Rivillo to pull Wichita to within three points. With Wichita pulling the keeper in favor of the sixth attacker, Miller scored into the empty goal from beyond the 3-point arc to make the final score 16-10 for the Rochester Lancers.
