The Lancers came into today's game against the Erie Commodores in a must win situation to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. They had tied Erie at home earlier this year, and were looking to get the edge on them in the season series.

A fierce wind played a factor in the game, blowing towards the east side goal. Erie had the wind to their backs in the first half, and it looked like the Lancers would hold on for a scoreless first half, but Erie found the net as Martinez finished off a beautiful header to give the hosts at 1-0. Erie almost made it 2-0 but Lancer goalkeeper William Banahene would deny them a 2nd goal in as many minutes.

With the wind at their backs in the second half, the Lancers controlled possession but could not finish off their chances. The Lancers almost tied it up with 8 minutes to go, but Austin Gerber would hit it just past the post. Erie threatened with a few chances and had a no call on a potential penalty kick go against them. With the clock winding down, Erie looked like they were headed for 3 points.

However with one minute left in stoppage time, Will Stone found the net on an assist from Tim Crawford to tie the game at 1-1.

The tie leaves the Lancers 3-3-3. Their next match is against Greater Binghamton FC Thunder on Saturday June 30th at 5 pm, where coach Doug Miller makes his return to the outdoor game after more than decade in retirement.
