2023 Wall of Fame Inductees Announced

 

The Rochester Lancers announce the 2023 inductees into their Indoor Wall Of Fame. This year's inductees include:  John Coraggioso, Richard Randall, Luis Ribeiro, Stephen Stokes, Dom Vieira and Christopher Wilmot. All of these individuals played a crucial part in the launch of the 2011 indoor Rochester Lancers team. Their support & dedication were vital in the early success of the modern era Rochester Lancers. With their assistance, the team led the league in attendance & game day operations for years. Not only do these honorees have strong connections with the Rochester Lancers brand, but they also have been involved with Rochester Soccer for decades. 

The Rochester Lancers are holding a Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Lancers last home game of the season on Saturday, March 25th at 7:45pm at the unique boutique arena at Rochester Regional Health Total Sports Experience in East Rochester.  2024 Season Tickets for the Rochester Lancers will go on sale to the public on Friday, March 24th at 10am. Fans can secure limited seating for next year's season at the Lancers Unique Boutique Arena.

• JOHN CORAGGIOSO: 

John was an Owner of the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and a dedicated sponsor.  He played Soccer at Eastridge and with Irondequoit Club Soccer.  John assisted the original Rochester Rhinos with housing and food for years through his East Main Street Salvatore's Pizza location. When the Rhinos moved to the new stadium, John also supplied food for the concession stands. John reminisces about the years of being with the Lancers as a positive experience where he got to know a lot of great players and enjoy soccer with family and friends. John is married to his wife Dorothy, and has 2 children Giovanni & Gabriella. 

 

• RICHARD RANDALL:

Rich Randall was the first employee hired by the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and fulfilled the role of Team President & GM. He played an integral part in the operations and success of the Lancers at the Blue Cross Arena, and helped secure lifelong sponsors and partners of the Lancers brand. Rich played soccer throughout Rochester for decades including college soccer at SUNY New Paltz. He was an employee of the Rochester Rhinos from 2008 to 2011, and helped save the Rhinos in 2009 with record crowds. Rich remembers his time with the Lancers as an important part of his life, working with people who became lifelong friends. Rich is married to his amazing wife Natalie, and has one son Leo. 

 

• LUIS RIBEIRO:

Luis Ribeiro was an Owner of the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and a dedicated sponsor. Luis has played soccer since a young age, and played first division indoor & outdoor soccer in Nova Scotia, Canada. Luis has been a sponsor and supporter of Rochester Rhinos since he moved to the States. He believes his time with the Rochester Lancers was a great experience both personally & professionally, and the highlight was seeing young kids and families enjoy the game experience. 

 

• STEPHEN STOKES:

Stephen Stokes was an Owner of the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and was the official CPA of the Lancers. He holds a strong connection to the Rochester sports community, as he also held the title of the Official CPA of the Rhinos and Knighthawks for years. Steve played on the very first Irondequoit youth travel team to exist, and also played at Bishop Kearney High School. He is an avid supporter and lifelong fan of the US National Team. Steve remembers his years with the Lancers as times of great fun with family and friends. He would like to thank SoccerSam for saving soccer in Rochester. Steve is married to his wonderful wife Karen, has 2 children Kristin and Ryan, and one grandchild. 

 

• DOM VIEIRA:

Dom Vieira was an Owner of the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and a dedicated sponsor. Soccer has always been a large part of Dom's life as a player, ref and coach. Dom fell in love with the Rhinos once he moved to Rochester and he became a sponsor and big supporter. Dom says that his years being involved with the Lancers were full of great memories, and he thanks SoccerSam and his Lancers family for this recognition. Dom's wife Paula also became a huge Lancers fan, and their son Jonathan came up with a great name for their new dog... Lancer... or as Dom Calls him, Lil Lancer! 

 

• CHRISTOPHER WILMOT:

Chris Wilmot was an Owner of the Rochester Lancers in 2011, and a dedicated sponsor. Chris has strong ties and childhood memories connecting him to the sport of Soccer. In the 1970's, he remembers watching English & German leagues which sparked his interest to play soccer throughout junior high. In 1977, he saw the NY Cosmos play the original Rochester Lancers twice and became forever hooked. He was co-owner of the Rochester Rhinos from 2005-2008, and helped save the Rhinos as an investor and owner at the new stadium. Chris has stated that his time with the Rochester Lancers was one of the highlights of his life. Chris is married to his incredibly supportive wife Kathy.
