It was never going to be an easy task for Doug Miller and his crew as the Lancers had to make the 4 hour trip to Slippery Rock University to take on undefeated Ft. Pitt Regiment in this Tuesday night affair.

The Lancers came out in a defensive formation, letting the play come to them. They almost struck in the first half with Ben Allan coming close from a ball played in by Lukas Fernandes. Ft. Pitt applied pressure and earned 6 corner kicks in the first half, but Lancers keeper James Lepetit stood his ground and the game went into the half scoreless.

Ft. Pitt continued to apply pressure and nearly found the net but Lepetit would deny Kolarac in the 61st minute. The Lancers continued to counter, and pressed higher up the field, and their efforts paid off when pressure caused a mistake by the Ft. Pitt defense and Rafael Godoi was there to put it away to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. The pressure continued and the Lancers found the net again as Lukas Fernandes won possession and played in a ball to Will Stone, who scored, making it 3 goals for him on the season.

The Lancers defense led by Jake Schindler, Wyatt Scott, and Dom Francis proved too strong and Rochester held on for a 2-0 win, earning their first shut out of the season.

Coach Doug Miller stressed the importance of discipline. "We came in and played counter attacking soccer, played disciplined defensive , and had to pick and choose our chances."

Man of the Man went to James Lepetit, who made 8 saves, earning the Lancers their 1st shutout of the year.

The win puts the Lancers at 2-2-1, making it the first time they have won back to back road games in NPSL play.

Ft. Pitt falls to 4-1, suffering their first defeat of the year.

The teams meet again Saturday July 7th in Rochester.
