Years with the Lancers: 1967-1968 (midfielder)

Born: Ukraine

An original member of the Rochester Lancers.  Emigrated to the US in the late 1940’s. Played soccer, basketball and track at Franklin High School and was an All-Scholastic selection.  Played collegiate soccer at Ohio State, St, John Fisher and Brockport State. Was named to the US Men’s National Team roster for 1970 World Cup qualifying.  Played professionally for Toronto Ukraina and Newark Sitch before joining the Lancers in 1967.

Named MVP of an international match of US and Canada-based Ukrainian All Stars vs. Scotland’s Dundee United in May of 1967. Left the Lancers in 1969 and played for Syracuse Scorpions and Philadelphia Spartans in the American Soccer League.

After retiring from soccer, coached Eastridge High School boys soccer and then St. John Fisher men’s soccer in the 1970’s and 1980.  Became the first head coach and general manager of the American Soccer League Rochester Flash in 1981. Was the first radio color commentator for the Rochester Rhinos in the late 1990’s.
